Adventure at the New England Aquarium

Hi, it's Nousagi!

Although I've just started my blog yesterday, I've written my second post.

I've written about the New England Aquarium, which I went to for the first time with my family yesterday.

Please read the entire post!

Going to the New England Aquarium by Train

We had to take three different trains to get to the aquarium and it was a 45-minute train ride from my house.

We also got off at the wrong station at the end of the trip! It was just a short walk to the aquarium, so we enjoyed the scenery during our walk instead of getting back on the train. We saw some fantastic sights during our walk.

We finally got to the aquarium! I was impressed by how big it was. Then we got tickets.

The Animals in the Aquarium

We went inside right away, but then we saw an adorable seal sleeping in an aquarium by the ticket office. (outside the building) And he was standing... then he sank down to the bottom of the aquarium… lol

Once we got into the aquarium, we saw a penguin habitat. They were standing on rocks and swimming around. I even got to see a penguin feeding its baby!

After that, we went to look at fish. In particular, there was an enormous aquarium filled with fish and shaped like a cylinder. There were many types of fish in the same tank, from small fish like crucian carps to big fish like sunfish.

Also, I was surprised that the aquarium was very big: about 4 stories tall!!

Then I saw a huge sea turtle eating some squid from a staff member there! Have a look at a photo my dad took of this! You can see how big it is!

After climbing to the top of the tank, we looked at some smaller ones.

What I found there was this mini starfish! It was stuck to the glass! Haha!! We also came across tanks with Chinese eels, hermit crabs, and various tropical fish. We had a great time.

Lunch at the Boston Sail Loft

We ate lunch while taking a break from the aquarium.  I really liked the restaurant.  We ordered some clam chowder, sea-food spaghetti, and things like that. It tasted incredible!

Returning to the Aquarium

We went back to the aquarium once lunch was over. But, we had seen everything there, so we went to the souvenir section. I bought a wooden turtle ornament, and my sister got a manta doll.

The Boston Tea Party

We decided to go home even though it was just 1:30. We stopped by a tourist spot themed to the Boston Tea Party along the way. There was an opportunity to get on a little, old ship and throw white boxes into the river.

The boxes looked like the boxes of tea that American people threw away before. That activity sounded fun, but it was a bit expensive (like it cost about $35 only to throw the boxes), so we didn’t do that.

However, we learned some things about the Boston Tea Party. You can see the ship where we could do the activity behind us in this picture.

Home At Last

On the way back home by train, all of us almost fell asleep since we walked a lot almost without taking a rest. We really had fun, though!

I recommend that everyone who visits Boston go to the New England Aquarium!

Thanks for reading my blog! I hope you'll read the next one, too! Bye!
